Reading Slump Activated
Reading slumps are so frustrating. I have the desire to read, I just can’t seem to turn pages for more than a few minutes before my mind starts wandering. It seemed to take forever to get through 'The Retreat by Krysten Ritter and I really enjoyed that book. I love reading and that’s why this is so frustrating. Before it was because I was grieving and now…
Maybe its just something I need to dedicate some uninterrupted time to. My reading “muscles” have, maybe, atrified a little and need some coaxing to get back into fighting shape. That sounds like a good challenge. I’m thinking of choosing three or four different genres, books that I’ve been excited for in the past, and I will start with 30 minutes a day. Maybe something like a 75 Hard but for reading.
I’ve got to try something because I am not giving up my love of the written word and the way it inspires me to write. These things are important to me. That means giving it some dedicated attention.
Things take time. Sometimes we get very impatient for things to either come about or give closure. I’m sitting in the middle of those things currently in my personal life. I just have to keep reminding myself that I trust the Universe and that these moments will take the time they take.
For now I will fill that time with this reading challenge. Time to shake off the dust.
What books are you reading currently? What’s your favorite genre?
